Video room: Soft Empowerment

Pinchuk and Van Peppen embarked on an impressive impact art project Soft Empowerment, centered around exploring the concept of strength. Their research aimed to answer the question: “What makes a person strong?” To delve deeper into this inquiry, they posed a thought-provoking question to each model: “If there’s one word that would prevent you from feeling strong, what would that word be?” This simple yet profound question opened the door to deep and sometimes challenging conversations, both for the models and the artists themselves.

“This art project was a journey of self-discovery; it challenged us to confront our own vulnerabilities and explore the depths of human resilience.” Through their artistic expressions and dialogues, Pinchuk and Van Peppen beautifully captured the essence of strength as an internal process of self-acceptance and authenticity. It encourages us to let go of societal expectations and embrace our own unique journey towards self-discovery and personal growth.

The work of Pinchuk and Van Peppen attests to the transformative power of art in navigating the complexity of the human experience, inspiring us to redefine our understanding of strength. (This video is part of a bigger installation).
